Every data and file in the PC has a distinct extension. These extensions define the app in which it can run and one of them is the “.tag” extension. It is a fairly vague extension that is mainly used by web designers and programming enthusiasts. If you don’t belong in this category, then you will think that these files can harm your device, and there is a possibility that you will remove it from your PC. However, you should first know about it:
Know about .tag file
There are a lot of use-cases present for the TAG files. These files are created to develop the custom tags- generally developed in the mini JavaServer Pages (JavaServer Pages.)
Mainly, these files are used for only one function. After creating (defining) these files as a JSP’s Plethora, they can be re-used in other web pages.
WordSmith Tools is one program that can open the files in application and text for analysis. It can use for customization and extension of tag files. There are some applications and programs that use these files in the form of Metadata (a type of descriptive information regarding some file or data). Corex and DataFlex are also from a long list of programming tools that can open and use the .tag extension. These two tools are used for the development of the multilayered software platforms (mainly object-oriented), which use the .tag files for data mapping.
Procedure for opening .tag Fie:
Through HTML CoffeeCup (an HTML editor)
- Firstly download and then install the program.
- It will be set as a default application for the supported data and the file after the installation.
- Go to any file (with the extension of .tag) location and double click on it to open the file.
- Then the program will open the file where not only you can read and write simultaneously.
- So, this is the easiest and best way to open and edit the .tag file. You can use the IDE or the Code editor in this app. This app provides the environment for the development of a higher level of WebPages and websites.
Via Notepad
If the file with the extension .tag is small and not that important, then you can open it with Notepad too. You have to follow this procedure for that:
- Open the program Notepad by Microsoft.
- Tap on the File in the Menu.
- Select the Open option from the shown list.
- When the first dialogue box is open, make sure the file type is set on All Files (*.*), located on the right bottom corner of the screen (just above the Open and Cancel button).
- Go to the desired file location in the dictionary.
- Select the file and click on the Open button (or double click on the file).
- When the file is open, then you can see the program in that file (learn JSP if you wish to understand the file). Here, you are also able to make changes in the file.
These files are created and use for recording the Metadata (primarily), so the encounter of regular user and these files are rarely to happen.
