Windows Defender Firewall is one of the best security features which comes in-built in Windows. Permit an Application via the Firewall
  • First of all, go to the Windows menu and find the ‘Start Defender Security Center’ and choose it.
  • Once it launches the security center, click on the ‘Firewall & network protection.’
  • You will reach the firewall screen and go to the lower side and see two choices shown less conspicuously is minor font.
  • You should click on the ‘Allow an App Through Firewall.’
  • Now, you will see a bigger table of applications on the PC.
  • Every app will have two tick boxes beside it.
  • Click on the ‘Change Settings’ in the top right-hand side of the screen and input the password of the administrator if pop-up.
  • Then find the application to permit. It will not have a tick mark next to it.
  • You should tick a mark to permit entry. There is two choice Public and Private.
  • Thereafter, you can initiate with Private only then choose the Public later whether you do not see the outcome you would like to.
  • Now, click on the OK button.
Block Software with the Firewall
  • Go to the applet of ‘Windows Defender Firewall’ and choose ‘Allow and App through Firewall.’
  • After that, you should click on the ‘Change Settings’ option and input the password of an administrator if pop-up.
  • You should find the application to block. This will have a tick mark next to it.
  • Go to the tickboxes to prohibit entry. 
  • There are two choices Public and Private. You should choose both.
  • Now, select the OK button.
Turn off Windows Defender Firewall
  • Go to the Windows menu on your system.
  • After that, input ‘Windows Defender Firewall’ into it and hit the Enter key.
  • After that, reach the left-hand side panel of the window, beneath the Control Panel Home, click on the ‘Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off.’
  • Navigate to the screen of Customize Settings screen, mark the option of ‘Turn off Windows Defender Firewall’ for the private network, public network, or both.
  • Now, once you have done, select the OK option.
